Implant Grade Titanium Piercings

Black belly bars deliver a bold, edgy aesthetic for navel piercings. Every black belly bar at Camden Body Jewellery is made from implant-grade titanium (ASTM F136) with a PVD black coating — combining a striking dark finish with the full safety of medical-grade, nickel-free titanium. PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition) bonds the black colour permanently to the titanium surface, so the finish will not chip, scratch, peel or cause irritation, even with constant friction from clothing and movement around the waist.

This collection includes black curved barbells at 14G (1.6mm), the standard gauge for navel piercings. Designs range from plain polished black barbells with ball ends to decorative styles featuring CZ gems in black settings, creating a sleek monochrome look. The curved barbell shape follows the natural anatomy of the belly button for comfortable, secure wear.

Black belly bars pair well with black ear jewellery and black nose rings for a coordinated dark aesthetic across multiple piercings. The lightweight titanium base means even decorative black belly bars sit comfortably without the downward pull that heavier metals can create on navel piercings.

Care

During healing, wear loose clothing to prevent friction. Clean with sterile saline spray twice daily. The PVD black finish is waterproof and will not discolour from sweat, sunscreen or pool water.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does black PVD coating come off belly bars?
No. PVD bonds colour at a molecular level to the titanium surface and will not chip, peel or fade under normal wear. It is significantly more durable than black plating or anodising.

Are black belly bars safe for new piercings?
Yes. PVD-coated implant-grade titanium is safe for new piercings. The coating does not affect the biocompatibility of the titanium underneath.
